Xi’an Bell Tower⏰

Xi’an is Northwest China’s most developed city, and likely its most historically and culturally significant after Beijing. The Bell Tower stands at its center. This photo, taken southward from Anyuan Gate on the city wall, captures the famous Central Axis. The Bell Tower ahead and the distant TV Tower create a classic juxtaposition of old and new.

Shaanxi TV Tower📺

Shaanxi TV Tower is a rare super-high building in Xi’an except for office areas such as Jinye Road. It can be seen clearly from the 12-kilometer Xi’an City Wall. This photo was taken from the MixC in Xi’an. I like this shopping mall with a very atmospheric feeling, especially during the blue hour when all the lights are turned on and the city will be very atmospheric.

Taiyuan South Railway Station🌇

Beyond Xi’an in Shaanxi Province, Taiyuan in Shanxi Province is also a historic city. Upon arriving by high-speed rail, Taiyuan greeted me with a stunning sunset. As someone who usually relies on a telephoto lens, I was so glad I brought a wide-angle lens for this trip, allowing me to capture such a magnificent scene. I love how the railway tracks on the ground and the overhead wires extend together toward the horizon.

Qinling Wildlife Park🦩

Flamingos are one of my favorite large birds because of their bright feather colors, which are as dazzling as flames. When I was a child, I often saw some scenes on TV, where photographers took their lenses through a large sea of flamingos, and then the birds raised their heads and stared at the camera and shook their feathers. In order to take this picture of flamingos skimming over the water, my friends and I went to the Qinling Wildlife Park in Xi’an and had a great time.

Xiaohe Ecological Park💧

This was when I had just bought a camera. My friend and I went to the Xiaohe Ecological Scenic Area to take photos. The riverside in spring is very interesting. In a city like Xi’an where life is stressful, it is really pleasant to go to the riverside with family to camp during the weekend. We met a big brother who raised three Border Collies, black, gray and brown, but their body shapes are almost the same except for the color. I feel very lucky to be able to take a photo with very vivid light and shadow when they are full of energy.

Xi’an Academy (Shuyuan) Gate🎒

For most tourists who come to Xi’an for the first time, Shuyuan gate may be a relatively niche place. It’s not that it’s not interesting, but there are too many richer places in Xi’an. Here you can buy some unique calligraphy and paintings. When I raised my 70-200F2.8 to shoot calligraphy and paintings with blessings in the distance, a young man on a motorcycle just happened to quickly enter my lens and sent me a group of foreground.

SAG (Saige) Parrot🦜

In my impression, SAG should be the largest modern shopping mall in Xi’an. At that time, in order to attract tourists to shop, they bought several very large macaws and two-headed hornbills from other places. Although I think this is very cruel, because they should fly freely in the tropical rain forest of South America, instead of being imprisoned in the mall for people to appreciate. But I am still very glad that they gave me a wonderful shooting experience. The blue feathers are really beautiful.

Taiyuan Shouyi Gate🚪

Compared to Xi’an, Taiyuan is not a big city, but it is interesting enough. The city is not wide but long and narrow from north to south, and Shouyi Gate is located in the center of northern Taiyuan. Unfortunately, when I arrived there, it was around 11 o’clock in the evening, and there were not many pedestrians in the huge square. If I had arrived earlier, it might have been very lively.

Xingqing Palace🌷

The best time for tulips to bloom is from the end of March to the beginning of April every year in Xingqing Palace, Xi’an. Here you can see endless tulip fields. Unfortunately, I went there a little too early, and many tulips were not fully open yet, and there were not many tourists. But luckily, a kitten was willing to look at my camera and let me take a photo of him.

Street Photography with My Friend Baixiang🤗

After finishing our undergraduate graduation project, I would like to thank my friend Baixiang Wang for inviting me to enjoy a delicious meal. I am very grateful to Baixiang for being my model and letting me take photos of him. Thanks to Baixiang’s encouragement and cooperation, I was able to take satisfactory photos the first time I used the flash. It was really damn cool under the background light.

Daming Palace✨

I personally think Daming Palace in Xi’an is a very interesting place. The park is very large and not crowded, which is very suitable for a slow pace of life. I like to go here in March every year to see the cherry blossoms or watch others fishing.
